Horizons Foundation

Horizons Foundation’ Priorities For 2007

1. Ongoing Commitments – Provide support and assistance to over 200 children at a) the orphanage at Bethany Christian Center in Chisinau Moldova, b) the Children-at-Risk program in Belti Moldova, c) the orphanage and microlending efforts in Pacasmayo Peru, and d) the two homes for children in the Ukraine: Hope House and Sheppard’s Home.

2. Zambia – Save 60 lives by fund another $6000 to sponsor another Orphan Trust in cooperation with World Hope International - USA to purchase animals and seed for one village so the surviving adults can care for the orphaned children due to their parent’s death to AIDS. You can literally expect a one-time donation of $100 to save a person’s life! We will add $600 to this for 60 mosquito nets to save this village from malaria. Also, when God provides the funds, we will send a water well drilling machine to Zambia - $8800. It’ll go thru solid rock up to 100 meters!

3. Ukraine, Odessa – Setup an official Horizons Foundation – Ukraine organization, approved by the Ukrainian government. This is needed to hold title to property in Ukraine. Approximate cost of this project is $4000.

4. Ukraine, Odessa – Manage the 8 properties controlled by Horizons Foundation in the Ukraine to maximize their value in order to purchase property for multiple homes for 16 year old girls who are forcibly discharged from the state run orphanages. In January 2006, Horizons Foundation purchased 6 properties with a total investment of $35,300. Nine months later one of the properties was sold for a 60% gain and the profits were reinvested in 3 more properties. The reason for this effort is to build value in order to fund part of the cost of building a new permanent home for the girls currently living in Sheppard’s Home AND to work toward raising the $500,000 necessary to buy a building in downtown Odessa for a new First Steps Center. First Steps Center is sponsored by our partners, World Hope International – Canada.

5. Ukraine, Odessa – Acquire a large van to transport the girls from Sheppard’s Home to Hope House, so the girls can work with the tutors available there. Approximate cost of this project is $18,000 for the van plus $2000 for the proper licenses.

6. Ukraine, Odessa – Build the first of 4 homes for girls who are forcibly discharged from the state run orphanages at the age of 15 or 16. Construction is scheduled to start in October 2007 and grant requests will be written to fund this effort. Approximate cost of the first building is $78,000.

7. Ukraine, Odessa – Acquire property adjacent to Hope House for building Hope House II in the future - $60,000. And, acquire additional farmland - $9000.

NOTE: All of the Top 7 projects are ready for immediate funding.

We can put $147,500 to work within the next month.
