UKRAINE
Horizons Foundation has partnered with World Hope International-Canada and World Hope-Ukraine to expand programs to help orphaned and abandoned children in Odessa, Ukraine. The three programs are:
First Step Center
The First Step Center was started over 7 years ago to help the homeless children in Odessa, Ukraine.
This program provides a place for the homeless children to daily receive a hot meal, get clean clothes, a hot shower, and acceptance and friendship. With over 12,000 homeless children in the city of Odessa,
a larger building is needed in downtown Odessa for another First Steps program. The current Center is in a basement rental apartment with only one bathroom and a kitchenette. We need a larger, better equipped facility for this program.
Hope House
Hope House was started for those homeless children who did not want to continue living on the streets.
Eleven children now have a new permanent home with new parents.
Shepherd’s Home
In Ukraine, children that live in state run orphanages have to leave the orphanages at age 16. Without practical skills to survive on their own, they often commit suicide or turn to prostitution. Shepherd’s House was opened in June 2006, to house girls that have ‘aged-out’ of state run orphanages. Horizons Foundation provided the start up funds to pay for housing, furniture, and food. We need to build the first of four (4) Shepherd Homes for the young teenagers of Odessa and other cities in Ukraine. These girls are being mentored, taken to church, provided a safe place to live, and receiving training to live a Godly, productive life.
Donations
It is the God-inspired deep desire of Horizons Foundation and World Hope-Ukraine to expand the current programs to rescue the homeless and helpless children in Odessa.
Horizons Foundation is a 501C3 and 100% of your donations will be applied to the project of your choice. Your donations are tax deductible.
